Enjoy genuine West Coast hospitality and personalised service at The Oystercatchers’ Haven guesthouse on the beach. Our 4-star establishment is located on the quieter side of the quaint fishing village of Paternoster and is a mere 40 meters away from the shoreline. The Oystercatchers’ Haven is within easy reach of all the restaurants, art galleries and curio shops in Paternoster.
The Oystercatchers’ Haven prides itself on its unique and distinctive interior and architectural design. Antique wooden sash windows, stable doors, untreated timbers, and reed-and-pole ceilings add to the old-world charm, together with carefully selected antique pieces such as a four-foot-high Angolan drum, Malian Sinaba paintings, and Persian carpets.
The Oystercatchers’ Haven consists of two luxurious Queen rooms, one Twin room, and one Luxury Suite/Honeymoon Suite with its own private lounge area. All rooms are private and have their own patios. The setting and views are such that the magnificent seaviews can be appreciated from every corner whilst affording the perfect opportunity to relax in a truly serene environment. All rooms are stylishly furnished and equipped with the basic modern necessities, including free Wi-Fi, satellite television, mini bar, electronic safe, and walk-in showers where you can take in the magnificent West Coast. Beach towels available on request.
White-washed houses and colourful ‘bakkies’ (fishing boats) lining the long white beaches make Paternoster a preferred destination for all wanting to explore the West Coast of South Africa. The best time of year to visit is August and September, when the wildflowers are blooming. With some of the most spectacular sunsets most often seen during May and June, when the winter rains start. As with most of the West Coast, The Oystercatchers’ Haven is closed during July for our annual maintenance period.
Unfortunately we can not accommodate children under the age of 12 and pets are not allowed.
